We’re delighted that, following extensive works to improve our facilities including new shower rooms (included a dedicated room for those needing mobility assistance), a welcoming reception and café space, Cornerstone Day Centre on Denmark Road, Manchester has re-opened from Monday 14th February with a new service timetable.
Each weekday, Monday – Friday, there will be a Homelessness Prevention Drop-In from 10.00 am until 12 noon including access to the new shower facilities (10.00 am to 2.30 pm) followed by a free community lunch 12 noon to 1.30 pm.
The lifting of restrictions imposed by Covid has enabled our dedicated team of staff and volunteers to listen and look again at the services at the centre. While the programme of visiting agencies is still being developed, Cornerstone hosts a Street Engagement Hub each Monday from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm, where people can access advice on housing, benefits, drug and alcohol services. We are especially pleased to be working with new partner agencies to support this, including Manchester City Council and Riverside, and welcome the opportunity to collaborate with others to expand the services available to people who visit the service.
The optician’s service, operated by Vision Care, has also re-started and now operates on Wednesdays from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm providing free eye tests and glasses. You can telephone to book an appointment or people can just drop in.
To get in touch, please don’t hesitate to contact our team on email@example.com or telephone 0161 232 8888.
