Social Support

Our clients often face a range of issues which we aim to assist them to manage and overcome if they feel they would benefit from support. Often this involves linking our clients in with external agencies that have the expertise to support their specific needs. Typically we offer advice and guidance in the following areas.

  • Accommodation - whilst we don’t offer our own accommodation we can: assist people to search for accommodation, help with deal with issues concerned with existing accommodation, make referrals to night shelter for rough sleepers, referrals to sheltered accommodation.
  • Health – help accessing health services such as registering with a GP or dentist, mental health services, drug and alcohol rehabilitation
  • Employment – help searching for work, CV preparation
  • Benefits – completing forms, applying for benefits, resolving benefits related issues

We work with a limited number of clients with whom we have long term relationship and we have identified a specific need which we feel we are best placed to address. This may involve visiting the client in their home, in hospital, prison, rehab clinics, or attending other appointments with them. This type of support is often concerned with assisting the client to gain, or maintain, some stability in their life that is associated with their accommodation. We aim to intervene when we see issues arising that may escalate to a point where they jeopardise their existing accommodation or where we feel their health may be compromised.
