Cornerstone volunteers remembers colleagues past and present

Volunteers gathered last Saturday for the bi-annual celebration of Mass to remember past and present supporters of Cornerstone Day Centre. The main celebrant, Fr Ged Murphy is the Episcopal Vicar for Caritas and takes a great interest in the welfare of staff, volunteers and service beneficiaries working there.

As Advent begins a new Church year, so too for Cornerstone there is a new beginning. Lorraine Cumbo, an experienced social worker joins as team leader ably supported by Howard Bradshaw as the senior support worker and the Cornerstone team. Thanks was expressed for the outgoing staff and the many years if service they have given to make Cornerstone an immediate response to poverty and need.

The Mass was followed by a sit down lunch which was enjoyed by over 80 people and prepared by our four volunteer chefs on the day.
